We at COAH want to offer our sincere thanks to everyone who attended and participated in the events of the 17^th Annual Research on Aging Showcase on Friday, April 5^th. Your presence made the day a huge success!

The day’s event started with an interactive student-led Epi of Aging journal club session.  This was followed by an outstanding Keynote Address by Dr. Claudia Kawas, Professor of Neurology and Neurobiology at the University of California, Irvine, on “Dementia and Resilience in the Oldest Old: The 90+ Study.”  Following the keynote presentation, we held a lively poster competition and networking session, featuring over 30 posters and concluding with awards in both student and professional categories. Overall, this annual showcase highlighted the exciting aging research being led by students, fellows, and faculty at Johns Hopkins, University of Maryland, the National Institute on Aging, and beyond.

Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and the Center on Aging and Health (COAH) were well-represented at this year’s Annual Meeting of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) in Tampa, Florida.  Faculty, fellows, and students from the Center, as well as many COAH alumni, led symposia talks, engaged in special sessions, and presented posters during this 5-day meeting.  COAH hosted a dinner to reunite past and present team members and to celebrate the Center’s collective successes and future collaborations in aging research.  Please see the photo gallery!
