COAH and JHU Well Represented at the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Gerontological Society of America

Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and the Center on Aging and Health (COAH) were well represented at this year’s Annual Meeting of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) in Boston, Massachusetts from November 12-15.  Faculty, fellows, staff, and students from the Center and the greater JHU community led symposium sessions, engaged in special sessions, and presented talks and posters during the conference.  COAH hosted a dinner to celebrate the Center’s collective successes and future collaborations in aging research and to connect with Center alumni and friends.  Please enjoy the photo gallery!  We hope to see you next year at the 2026 GSA meeting in National Harbor.

Recap: The 18th Annual Research on Aging Showcase!

We at COAH want to share our utmost thanks to everyone who attended and participated in the events of the 18th Annual Research on Aging Showcase on Friday, May 16th. Your presence and engagement made for a truly great event!

The day started with a student-led Epi of Aging journal club session facilitated by recent PhD graduate, Dr. Kening Jiang.  This was followed by an outstanding Keynote Address by Dr. Barbara Resnick, Professor of Gerontology in the School of Nursing at University of Maryland, Baltimore, on “Resilience and Aging” in Sheldon Hall.  Following the keynote presentation, we held a lively poster competition and networking session in Feinstone Hall, featuring over 40 posters and concluding with awards in both student and professional categories. Overall, this annual showcase highlights the exciting aging research being led by students, fellows, and faculty at Johns Hopkins, University of Maryland, the National Institute on Aging, and beyond.

Recap: The 17th Annual Research on Aging Showcase!

We at COAH want to offer our sincere thanks to everyone who attended and participated in the events of the 17th Annual Research on Aging Showcase on Friday, April 5th. Your presence made the day a huge success!
